Flying Coaster Tracks

Project Details:

  • Two versions of a simple track were completed in the study. Version 2 (shorter and smaller) was ultimately decided on due to the file size in relation to the motion study.

  • Version one was more complex and had a longer gravity box and was closer to a full scale, measuring around 100 feet.

  • Version two was smaller and simpler, measuring around 25 feet in height.

  • Both tracks are made up of three types of track pieces:

    • Straight Rail

    • Curved Track

    • Up to Lift Track

    • Connector Track (only used in complex assemble to complete the track)

  • The track pieces are actually sub-assembly themselves, because I made one rail and then would add the other in another assembly.

  • The straight rail also features “bullhorns” for support. For the table below, I will only show the sub-assemblies and bullhorn.
